Post by ajmendoza » Wed Mar 21, 2018 6:17 pm

An introductory game played at Club Comandante Málaga, an amazing place for wargaming.
This was a 350 army points between undead Kuroi-te and Buke Samurai. This was the first game of the undead general the Buke general took advantage of that.. it will not happen again...

Image

Initial deployment. The kuroi-te has been week harrasing the subroinding areas of the Hida Buke Clan's fortress. It has two natural defenses: a river at it east and a mountaint at its back. The river do not stop the undead though and during a random morning they appeared to take the fortress and many new soldiers for the undead horde.

Mision: Strategic control -- control the central building and 4 smaller areas around it)

The Kuroi-te (black hand) army emerging from the waters. It is formed by 10 Yari ashigaru (which were not deployed at the begining, they will arise from the ground in any part of the battlefield), 5 Spectre Yurei with naginata, 5 Katana samurai and 5 Jikininki (infernal creatures zombies alike). This army was commanded by a Samurai Taisho and a Tenome.

The Buke army stay stand in front of this deadly enemy. It is formed by 5 5 Katana Samurai, 5 Dai-katana Samurai, 10 Yari ashigaru and 10 Heishi with nagamaki. It was leaded by the mounted Daimyo Buke.

Image

Deployment from the Buke point of view. The Buke's left flank is very strong with those two samurai units (one is out of the image) which will have to fight against the Jikininki and most likely the undead samurai unit, which is leaded by the kuroi-te general. The right flank is controled by warriors. They will have to face the expert archers and the terrible Yurei.

Image

After a short shooting actions between archers, both side warriors run to take positions.

Image

Creatures quicky run against the day katana, which are flanked by the katana samurai and the Daimyo. Those creatures will have a hard fight.

Image

The Buke player took the initiative and charged with the samurai against the Jikininki. The creatures fight well, but cannot resist the second charge of the dai-katana samurai, suffering lot of casualties. In the center of the battlefield the samurai katana leave their flank unprotected and the buke heishi charge against it. Those undead samurai resists to re-die again and will come to alive again and again at the begining of each turn (undead can roll 1D6 and recover a casualty with a 6).

But inexpectly the kuroi-te Yari ashigaru unit raise from the ground at the samurai rearguard. But they appear too son and the buke general have the opportiny to aid his troops....

Image

.....and after a brutal lonely charge is able to destroy more than a half of the undead ashigaru and keep fighting against them

Image

The kuroi-te's right flank as follen and only the samurai with the taisho resist in the center. In the other hand, in the left flank, the Yurei march against the ashigaru.

Image

Ashigaru that cannot resist the terror produce by the spectres and run away from the battlefield, leaving their left flank completely unprotected.

Image

The buke controls their left flank and the center, Kuroi-te the buke's right flank and quickly try to move to the center to aid their troops and took the central position. But it is too late...

Image

Buke controls 2 of the 5 strategic position wich give them the victory. They have fought bravely against the fearless undead, who retired as quick as they appear, when a un-natural fog occluded the battlefield. When it disappear there is nothing more than tired samurai and a lot of corpses on the ground. Buke incinerate their dead in order to not see then walk again with the kuroi-te and fall back behind their casttle's walls. From a far hill, a eyeless face smile while seeing the scene. The undead commander now know how to defeat the first defenses of the living....
