[BOTH] Historic Takeda battle formation

Post by ajmendoza » Mon Jun 12, 2017 1:13 pm

I think this is interesting for everyone. I am going to try this during a game.

Puede ser interesante para todos. Será cuestión de probarlo durante una partida.

The Takeda battle formation in Koshu, the basic shape was roughly common to all Muromachi armies, and apart from increased numbers of teppo ashigaru, stayed the same way until Bakumatsu, ie the end of Edo. In the right foreground.
A group of Yumi-ashigaru archers with borrowed bows (Okashi-yumi), and five Teppo-ashigaru with borrowed teppo (Okashi-deppo), there were five each of these groups. The top leaders are on horses and called Yumi-Bugyo and Teppo-Bugyo respectively.

Thanks for posting this as it's the first time to see a battle formation in detail.
I plan to base my Buke in a Takeda theme, but I will have to replace the teppo units with more yumi units ;)
Miyamoto Musashi: "Generally speaking, the Way of the warrior is resolute acceptance of death".
